Lesson #2 – When all else fails, read the directions…in this case, ingredients.
While preparing my business plan to market Baby Butz Cream I came across research stats that would scare any parent about products that contain chemicals that we use on our babies and children every day. Did you know…
* Children on average are exposed to 27 chemicals a DAY! — Companies can claim that their products are gentle and natural even when they contain chemical ingredients.
* Baby’s skin is 30% thinner than adults.— The absorption of product through the skin and into the bloodstream is higher so the quality and safety of ingredients used in baby products should be that much more important,”
* The blood-brain barrier that helps block chemicals from penetrating brain tissue is not fully developed until the baby reaches 6 months of age. — You do not want to expose your baby to potentially harmful ingredients when their developing tissues and organs are sensitive to chemical damage.
Parents need to know about the products they are using on their children.
The lesson here is…Read the ingredients, if the product contains alcohol, perfume or chemicals it’s probably not a good idea to use on baby and as far as I know…those ingredients do NOT heal diaper rash.
